Turn on two-step login

Updated 23 October 2026

With two-step login on, logging in needs your password and a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or 1Password. Each person turns it on for their own login.

Turn it on

  1. Open Settings and find the Two-step login card.
  2. Click Turn on.
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you can’t scan it, type the key shown under the code into the app instead.
  4. Type the 6-digit code the app shows and click Turn on two-step login.
  5. Save your recovery codes, then click I’ve saved them.

Recovery codes

You get 10 recovery codes when you turn two-step login on. Each one lets you log in once if you don’t have your phone. They are shown only once, so copy them or click Download .txt and keep them somewhere safe, like a password manager.

The card shows how many codes you have left and warns you when you are running low. Click New recovery codes and type a code from your authenticator app to get a fresh set. Your old codes stop working.

Logging in

After your password, VivaDialog asks for the 6-digit code from your app. If you don’t have your phone, click Use a recovery code instead.

On your own device you can tick Don’t ask again on this device for 30 days. Leave it off on a shared or public computer.

If a code doesn’t work, check that the time on your phone is correct and try the newest code. After too many wrong codes you have to wait 15 minutes. When someone enters your password correctly but the wrong code, you get an email about it.

Log out other devices

Right after you turn two-step login on, VivaDialog asks whether to log out your other devices. Browsers and phones that were already logged in stay logged in until you log them out. Logging them out also disconnects AI apps you approved.

Your team

Owners and admins see under Your team who in the workspace has two-step login on. Only each person can turn it on or off for themselves.

Turn it off

Click Turn off and type a code from your authenticator app, or a recovery code.

Lost your phone

Log in with a recovery code, then turn two-step login off and set it up again on your new phone. If you lost both your phone and your recovery codes, contact support. We check that the account is yours before we turn two-step login off.
