VivaDialog can notify you on your computer or phone when a customer sends a DM, even when VivaDialog is closed. You can also add it to your home screen or desktop so it opens in its own window, like an app.
Add VivaDialog to your home screen
There is nothing to download from an app store. Open app.vivadialog.com and log in, then:
- iPhone and iPad (Safari): tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Android (Chrome): open the browser menu and choose the option to install the app or add it to the home screen.
- Computer (Chrome or Edge): use the install option in the address bar or the browser menu.
VivaDialog then opens straight to the inbox, in its own window.
Turn on notifications
- Open Settings and find the Notifications card.
- Click Turn on in this browser and allow notifications when the browser asks.
- Under Notify me about, choose Every new DM in my workspaces or Only conversations and comments assigned to me.
- Click Send a test. A notification should appear within a few seconds.
On iPhone and iPad, add VivaDialog to the Home Screen first, open it from there, and then turn notifications on. Safari in a normal tab cannot show them.
Notifications are set per browser and per phone. Turn them on in each one you use; up to 10 per person. Logging out turns them off in that browser.
What you are notified about
- A new DM. With Every new DM, you hear about new DMs in all your workspaces. Once a conversation is assigned to someone, only that person hears about its new DMs, whichever option they chose. You get at most one notification per conversation every 5 minutes.
- A conversation or comment assigned to you, by a teammate or by a rule. Assigning something to yourself sends nothing.
New comments do not send notifications on their own; they arrive in the inbox as usual.
A notification shows who wrote and in which workspace, never the message itself, so a locked phone does not show your customer’s words. Tapping it opens that conversation or comment in VivaDialog.
If notifications do not arrive
- If Settings says the browser blocks notifications, allow them for app.vivadialog.com in the browser’s site settings, then reload the page.
- Check that the phone or computer itself allows notifications from that browser, and that do-not-disturb or focus mode is off.
- If a test is not delivered, click Turn off, then Turn on in this browser again.
- Some browsers cannot show notifications from websites. Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari can.
