Connect an AI app to VivaDialog (MCP)

Updated 23 October 2026

An AI app that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol) can connect to your VivaDialog workspace with your login. It can then read your inbox and answer questions about it, for example which comments still need a reply. Connecting AI apps needs a paid plan, and only owners and admins can connect one.

Connect an app

  1. Open Settings and find Connected apps. Copy the server address shown there.
  2. Add that address to your AI app as an MCP server.
  3. When the app asks, log in to VivaDialog, pick the Workspace, and click Allow access.

What the app can do

The app can always:

  • read comments, conversations, and messages in the Unified inbox
  • see which channels are connected
  • see usage against your plan and inbox analytics
  • read contacts, internal notes, and automations

It can never change billing, members, channels, or settings.

Write access is not available in every workspace yet. Where it is, the consent screen also shows Also allow (optional). Each item there starts off:

  • Send replies to customers: sends DMs and comment replies for real, from your channels. They count toward your monthly conversations.
  • Organize the inbox: changes comment status, assigns, tags, stars, and adds internal notes. Customers see none of this.
  • Manage contacts: changes a contact’s stage and saves contact segments.
  • Manage automations: creates, changes, turns on or off, and deletes automations and flows. An automation or flow that is on replies to customers by itself.

Switch on only what you want this app to do for you. With everything off, it can only read.

See what an app changed

Under Connected apps, each app shows who approved it, what it is allowed to do, and when it was last used. Show actions lists what the app changed, kept for 90 days. Message and note text is never stored there.

Disconnect an app

Click Disconnect next to the app. It loses access right away.

An app also stops working when the person who approved it is no longer an owner or admin, and when that person logs out on all devices.
