To auto-reply to Instagram comments in VivaDialog, create a rule in Automation that watches new comments for words you choose, such as price or INFO, and answers each match with a fixed text or an AI reply. The reply is posted publicly under the comment, from your account. The rule can also send the person a private DM. You can test the rule before it goes live.
You need a connected Instagram account, and you need to be an owner or admin of the workspace.
Steps
- Open Automation in the dashboard.
- Click New rule and pick a starting point. If you have no rules yet, the starting points show right away. “Comment INFO, get the link” is a good first rule; “Comment INFO, get the details by DM” also sends the details privately. Every template can be changed, or choose Start from scratch.
- Under When should this run?, choose New comment.
- Under Which messages?, choose Messages with certain words and type the words, separated by commas. One matching word is enough, and capital letters do not matter.
- Under On which accounts?, keep All connected accounts or tick only your Instagram account. To limit the rule to Instagram, open Advanced settings and select it under Only on.
- Under How should it reply?, choose one:
- Same text every time: everyone who matches gets exactly the text you write.
- Answer with AI: write the facts the AI may use, such as prices, opening hours, or how to order. See AI replies and your quota.
- Under Also send a DM?, tick Send a private DM to the person who commented if you want to, and write the DM text. The person gets both the public reply and the DM.
- In Test it first, type a comment the way a customer would and click Test. Nothing is sent and no quota is used.
- Click Save rule. Leave Turn on right after saving ticked to start right away.
What the rule will not do
- Reply more than once to the same comment, even when several rules match.
- Send more than one DM for the same comment. Meta allows one.
- Reply to comments older than 24 hours.
- Reply to comments written by your own account.
Check that it works
Each rule in the list has a History link. It shows every comment the rule ran on, and whether the reply was sent. When a reply was not sent, the reason is written next to it, for example “Another rule already replied to this item”.
Replies count toward your plan’s monthly conversation quota, and AI replies also count toward the AI reply quota. A DM sent for a comment counts as the same conversation as the comment, not a new one. See what counts as a conversation.
